About Our Organization

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in rescuing dogs and preparing them for adoption.

Our Mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abused, abandoned and neglected animals specializing in discarded breeding dogs, while maintaining our commitment to educate the public on the truths about the dog breeding industry and general animal welfare. Angels left behind is an all volunteer rescue comprised of dedicated rescuers and foster homes.

We were established in 2008 in honor of our little four pound Poodle named Bear (Pictured Below, Center). Angels Left Behind is proud to be a licensed, non-profit organization. All donations go towards caring for and rehabilitating puppy mill and shelter dogs and cats.

Donations are 100% tax deductible.

* The majority of the animals that come to Angels Left Behind are from breeders, puppy mills and high kill shelters. Most of them are extremely sick or in immediate danger of being euthanized. Although we wish we could place each and every animal that is found wandering the streets or belongs to an owner that feels forced to give their animal up, it is not within our power to take them in.

** Our rescue is an all volunteer organization . Most of our volunteers have jobs and families. Please allow at least 1-3 days to review your application and check vet references. Please note that ALB will not adopt animals to a home with unaltered pets unless there is a medical reason. Thank you for your time and patience throughout our adoption process.

Found An Animal?

Please call your local animal shelter if you have found an animal. Animal shelters are the first place an owner will look for a missing animal. Please ask the shelter how long the holding period will be. This may vary from shelter to shelter. Sometimes the holding period is as little as five days. Feel free to email us if this is the case. We will do everything we can to pull the animal from the shelter before the hold period expires, risking its life.

Surrendering An Animal?

Because we are a foster based rescue and not a shelter we may not have the room to take in your dog or cat. We do work with a lot of reputable rescues and may be able to help you place your pet if our rescue is full though.

Thank You For Your Support!!!
